The BHS Stainless Steel Portable Eye Wash (PEW-15) protects employees from accidents that can occur while cleaning, charging, or changing lift truck batteries. This mobile safety station does not require plumbing and can be installed anywhere battery spills or leaks may occur. The self-contained system provides employees immediate relief from corrosive material.
The PEW-15 protects employees from physical injury, and it helps employers comply with federal regulations. That’s because OSHA 29 CFR 1926.50(g) mandates that “Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate emergency use.” The PEW-15 provides these safety facilities in parts of the warehouse with no plumbing.
This eye safety station provides 15 minutes of flushing solution at a flow rate of 0.65 gallons/minute through dual spray heads or 6 minutes at 1.7 gallons/minute through the drench hose. This model comes standard with a highly durable stainless steel tank that features built-in carrying handles, air intake valve, pressure gauge and pressure relief valve. The PEW-15 is mounted on dolly for ease of installation and movement.

- To prepare unit for use, fill with 10 gallons (37.5L) of clean potable water and add bacteriostatic additive (supplied with unit)
- After filling, pressurize with 80 PSI (5.5 bar) air pressure
- Unit is assembled and factory tested prior to shipment
- Furnished with ANSI-compliant sign
- Weighs 46 lb (21 kg) empty, 127 lb (58 kg) filled
*Discharge time is less if eyewash and drench hose are used simultaneously.
